Pencil skirts and flouncy shirts are the way to go. With a movement towards lady-like details, the shoes are pointed, the skirts are fitted, and the blouses are elegant. Bonus points if you mix it up with a leather pencil skirt and more edgy details. Nobody did it better than Courtney Kerr on Day 1 of Fashion Week yesterday. Her look combines so many of my favorites for fall: leather, oxblood, pointed heels (the Valentino Rockstud Pumps to be more exact)... sigh. See more of her look here.
